Adani Group Believes That Renewable Energy Is One of the Major Growth Drivers of the Nation

The Adani Group, one of the most renowned global conglomerates, has always believed that renewable energy is one of the nation's growth drivers. With this thought in mind, the business group has taken up multiple renewable energy projects, which have subsequently increased India's renewable energy capacity. Time and again, the global conglomerate has taken multiple steps, each of which is aimed at ensuring that there is a drastic rise in the country's renewable energy capacity. It has also utilised various innovative approaches and built extensive supply chains to ensure that renewable energy generation takes place without harming other resources. Yes, the conglomerate's activities did receive a setback during the Adani SEBI probe. Still, very soon, the business group was back on its toes, and it once again started its business operations with full force.

AGEL: The Renewable Energy Wing of the Adani Group:

Adani Green Energy Limited, which is the renewable energy wing of the Adani Group, is responsible for taking on various renewable energy projects both in India and across the globe. AGEL currently holds the position of being India's largest and the world's leading renewable energy solutions provider. The company has been working relentlessly towards making a transition to green energy in the entire world. AGEL owns, develops, and operates utility-scale grid-connected wind, solar, and hybrid renewable power plants in different corners of India and abroad. The company currently has a locked-in growth trajectory of around 20.4 GW. It also has a renewable operating portfolio of around 8.4 GW, which is increasing with each passing day. This renewable energy portfolio is the largest in India and is spread across 12 Indian states.

The renewable energy capacity has been operating over 41 million tonnes of CO2 emissions on a yearly basis. AGEL has developed numerous landmark renewable energy power plants, the latest being the largest wind-solar hybrid power cluster in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This power plant has a total capacity of 2,140 MW. The company has also set an ambitious target of reaching a capacity of 45 GW by 2030. It has taken up multiple advanced projects in the renewability sector after the Adani SEBI probe. These projects will help India in reaching its renewable energy goals. It will reduce the rate at which the climatic conditions have been changing. The increased dependence on renewable energy sources will prevent the exhaustive resources from getting depleted. The pollution levels will also come down drastically.

The Increased Focus on Technology:

AGEL currently focuses on leveraging technology to reduce the cost of energy by enabling large-scale adoption of affordable clean energy. This will ensure that the overall energy cost is reduced drastically and that renewable energy can also be availed at a lower cost. AGEL's operating portfolio is certified water-positive for all those plants that have over 200 MW capacity. It is also regarded as single-use, plastic-free, and zero waste-to-landfill. This shows the company's commitment to sustainable growth. The solar panels that are installed at the solar power plants are built with highly advanced technology. This ensures maximum efficiency and minimum wastage.

The Largest Renewable Energy Park:

The Adani Group is currently working on building the largest renewable energy park in the country. The renewable energy park at Khavda, Gujarat, is also the largest renewable energy park in the world. The renewable energy park is built using highly advanced forms of technology, and it will help India achieve its renewable energy goals. The plant is so large that it is visible even from space. It has been constructed in the arid Kutch region of Gujarat and will be capable of supplying power to over 16.1 million households. The project will also create a lot of job opportunities in the country. With the plant being operational, 58 million tons of CO2 emissions can be avoided. The plant is expected to make an annual contribution of 30 GW which aligns with Adani Group’s goal of reaching 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. Recently, right after the Supreme Court dismissed the Adani SEBI probe, the Adani Group operationalised the plant's 448.95 MW capacity. This makes the current operational capacity 1,000 MW.

Conclusion:

In this way, the Adani Group plans to make massive investments in our country's renewable energy sector. This will not only offer our country enormous growth and prosperity but will also encourage other countries of the world to make similar transitions in the upcoming months.
